The oldest customer service rule ( and rule of eitquette with people in general) is to pay attention to the person who is with you/in front of you. Getting on your cell phone unless it is really urgent saying that the person your're with is not very important to you. Chatting in any performance regardless of whether ir is on screen or stage is just plain boorish. If the call is URGENT - leave the performance! Also just because we have two ears doesn't make us better - we still only have one brain and the frontal lobes take in the information that is the most important to you.
