Golfing - Teeing Off

It's not called "a gentleman's sport" for nothing. There are some very strict rules to abide by when stepping out onto the Links. Don't double bogey your social interactions whether you're trying to make good with the boss or just trying to beat your friend's to the hole. Proper Ollie has the etiquette advice you need.

My friends and I have slipped into bad habits, just with informality over time. Etiquette really does grease communication. Why not be proper?

Personally, I've considered rebelling against the idea of social standing. Although it is tempting to allow the person who thinks they're all that take the first swing, so when they slice it 50 yards right into the woods, the rest of us mere mortals can have a good laugh!

I will echo the point made earlier - good point about letting the person with the highest social standing go first

"Tee Off In Order Of Social Standing". I did not know that, thanks Proper Ollie. In other related news I suppose this explains why I am never invited to shoot first.

Thanks. It's just a shame we need it!
